About

Carr and Company is a spoken word folk band from Columbus, Ohio founded by Evan Carr, who’s previous and current projects include: 1001, Original Soundtrack, Francis Bacon Band, Slow Violence, and Debris. Carr and Company’s first album, titled “Only Being,” was released in November 2021.

Common themes explored in the band’s music include nature, the mystery of the spirit and the need to be connected to those around us.

Some of the band’s influence’s include: Levi the Poet, Bob Dylan, Listener, Joanna Newsome, Leonard Cohen, Timbre, MeWithoutYou, Julien Baker, Nirvana, Bright Eyes and Dry Cleaning.

Members a part of or previously a part of the project include Troy Kunkler on drums (October Ember, Francis Bacon Band), Chris Burns on Bass, Eileen Motok on vocals, Mark Dutton on guitar (Francis Bacon Band), Lindsey Stevens on vocals, Stephen Whitley on keys, David Lawler on bass (Slow Violence, Debris), Rick Renta on guitar (Slow Violence, Debris) and Caleb Miller on keys (pincer, Here Here).
